Organized as Mt. Tabor
Presbyterian Church in 1841, our congregation has been serving God for more than
160 years. Today, several members are eighth and ninth generation descendants of
the church's founding mothers and fathers. Together with more recent members who
come from other PCUSA congregations, different denominations, and the larger
community we are living into our call to be a "Christ-Called Community"
In March 2003, we dedicated
our new Fellowship Hall and celebrated the refurbishment of our Sanctuary and
Administrative Wing in Phase One of a three-phase master building plan. Now, we
look to God to shape and direct what we shall be, firmly rooted in His Word,
deeply committed to our Reformed, Presbyterian faith, and ready to fulfill God's
Purpose.
The love we have for one
another in this place is deep and real. The relationships formed here are
life-changing and life-giving. The work we are about is honoring God, Father,
Son and Holy Spirit with the best we have to offer.
First Presbyterian Church
is many things to many people, but most of all it is a place to be. A place to
belong. A place to become. A place to serve. A people in the making. A growing
church in a growing community.
I invite you to become a
part of our tradition, our loving legacy of faith, our Christ-called community.
Sincerely,
Reverend Brandi Casto-Waters
