Time for CONFIRMATION

The church nurtures those baptized as children and calls them to make public their personal profession of faith and their acceptance of responsibility in the life of the church. (W-4.2003)

At First Presbyterian, Confirmation takes place in the 8th grade.  All 8th graders, and older youth who have not yet gone through Confirmation, are invited to take part in this journey leading up to their profession of faith and joining the church as adult members. 

The 8th grade Sunday School Class uses the PC(USA) Confirmation curriculum, We Believe: Professing Our Faith.  This class will meet throughout the school year and will help students understand their baptism, their faith commitment and their place in the church.

During the winter and spring semesters, students will participate in various class, worship and serivce experiences that will enhance thier faith journey, as well as participate in a Confirmation Retreat.
